At the Oneonta Church of Christ, we are committed to serving and uplifting our local community. Our goal is to be a beacon of hope for those who do not yet have a relationship with God. Through various outreach efforts, we strive to make a positive impact on the lives of our neighbors.
One of our key outreach tools is the bi-monthly publication, "House to House", which we mail to local households in partnership with the Jacksonville Church of Christ. As our congregation grows, we aim to expand this mailing to reach every home in Blount County. To learn more about this publication, visit housetohouse.com.
In addition to spreading the message of God through print, we actively participate in community service projects. We have hosted blood drives, and our congregation regularly visits local nursing homes to bring encouragement and fellowship. We host an annual singing event on the last Friday night of January each year, bringing together voices from the community for a night of worship and fellowship. Each July, we host an annual "Free Yard Sale" where members of our congregation donate clothes and household goods for the community. Everything is free, and we welcome everyone to come and take what they need. We also serve free hamburgers, hotdogs, and chips to all who attend. During the holiday season, we prepare care baskets for residents at a selected nursing home, ensuring they feel remembered and loved. We are always looking for new ways to extend our service to the community and welcome any suggestions or ideas on how we can better serve those around us.
